Leaving Barcelona, you will head north, driving along Costa Brava coastline, reaching in about two hours the Natural Park of Cap de Creus. Located in the Alt Empordà region, this wonderful place is a wild and rugged headland.
Once you enter the green area of the Natural Park, your imagination will be captured by the outstanding scenery until you reach the natural harbor of Cap de Creus, where is hidden the lovely village of Cadaqués. Being an inspiration for artists and writers, this picturesque place has saved its atmosphere and its beauty is almost untouched. Walk around the cobbled streets with white-washed houses, visit Portlligat where Salvador Dalí spent a great part of his life and admire the stunning landscape that inspired him to create one of his world-known paintings. Afterwards, proceed to the cape of Cap de Creus, often described as ‘the end of the world’. The nature has created here a scenery that is marvelous and other-worldly. No words can be enough to describe the view from Cap de Creus lighthouse! The serenity and the beauty around it will fascinate you!
To complete the visit of Cap de Creus, yоu will visit the Monastery of Sant Pere de Rodes, a hidden gem between green hills and overlooking the sea. This Benedictine temple is considered as the crown of the Catalan Romanesque architecture and is definitely worth the visit. Another spectacular panorama awaits you here. If you get there at the right time, you will have the chance to watch the sunset over the sea, the Llansá bay and the fishing village of Port de la Selva. All of this shaping the magical silhouette of Cap de Creus!
